Nagarkot is one of the most beautiful tourist sites on a hilltop just 32km away from Kathmandu. It is famous for its sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayas. The Nagarkot tour provides the best view of the Himalayas from the tower. You will begin your tour early in the morning by visiting Bhaktapur Durbar Square to witness the excellence of Newari culture and Architecture before continuing to Nagarkot. Leaving behind the beautiful and ancient city of Bhaktapur, you will explore Changunarayan Temple before heading towards Nagarkot for sunset. You’ll arrive in Nagarkot just in time to see the spectacular sunset over Everest. It is a one-and-a-half-hour drive from Kathmandu. If you want to see the stunning mountains glinting in the early morning light, this tour is best for you.
Nagarkot is a good place for quick hikes and bike rides. The hotels and resorts in Nagarkot are conveniently placed to allow visitors to observe the beautiful sunrise and sunset from the tower. On clear days, you can see stunning views of mountain ranges such as Mt. Everest, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Annapurna and many more. On top of the hill, there is a massive tower from which we can see the entire landscape. In the evening, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the sunset before returning to Katmandu. Nagarkot is located at the top of the ridge and has many hotels and lodges. You can see the stunning view of the Langtang range from the top of the Nagarkot viewpoint.
After having breakfast we drive through the Arniko Highway to Bhaktapur Durbar Square which is also a site listed in UNESCO world heritage sites. Here we explore the lifestyle of the indigenous community of Nepal i.e. Newari community. Some of the important sites to explore here are; Nyatapola temple, Nge Nyapa Jhya Laaykoo(55 window palace), Vatsala temple, Siddhi Lakshmi temple, Bhairava nath temple and Lion’s gate. This place used to be the former royal palace of the Malla kings of Nepal from the 14th to 15th century. After exploring the square we drive up to ChanguNaraya (The Ancient Hindu Bishnu Temple). It is a two-story pagoda-style temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple is also listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. There is also a museum where one can find a varied collection of artifacts, utensils, coins and implements in all Nepal. After exploring Changunarayan temple and having lunch we drove to Nagarkot through the beautiful woods of Telkot. We stay that night in Nagarkot and enjoy the calm environment.
The next day we wake up early and hike up to the view tower to catch the mesmerizing view of sunrise and the various mountain ranges. After enjoying the view for a while we come back to our hotel and have breakfast. After breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu.
